The successful applicant will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Project Manager and Data Center Architect during the design phase
  • Take a leading role in the implementation phase of the project
  • Take part in hardware installation tasks for the Data Center
  • Parttake in network configuration for the Data Center
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating Systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Maintain the integrity of the security systems during upgrade processes (backup, patching, antivirus updates) 
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential blockages, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any task

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology (IT)
  • 4 or more years of relevant IT experience on multiple platforms
  • Relevant IT certifications
  • Experience in Data Center projects
  • Culture of Network and Systems security
  • Experience with international projects within multicultural teams is a plus
  • Experience in the defence industry is a plus

HARD SKILLS (all or part of the skills)

  • Experience managing secure IT systems 
  • Superior knowledge of Linux RHEL 
  • Know-how in Virtualization System (VMWare, HPVM, ESXi, HyperV, NSX-T)
  • Consolidated experience in Monitoring solutions (Nagios, Centreon, Xymon)
  • Security tools (Splunk) 
  • HPE Servers
  • Tools for ERP
  • Good knowledge of Database systems (SQL, MariaDB, Oracle) 
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint (WSS, Foundation 2010/2013, Sharepoint Designer)
  • Experience migrating standalone environments to Clustered solutions
