Description du poste / stage

A vacancy for an EGNOS V3 Operations Functional Chain Engineer (M/F) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join « Navigation Systems and ATM » department in the « Engineering / User Ground Systems» directorate of Airbus D&S. The department is in charge of definition, development and Integration, Verification and Validation of critical Ground Systems or Functional chains for Navigation and Air Traffic Management.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.



Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Functional Analysis of the Operations FC
  • Requirements definition
  • Operations FC architecture definition: identification of the components which build up the facility and the interfaces between the components
  • Produce and maintain the required documentation and models: architectural design documentation and the associated justification file.
  • Check the consistency of the specifications of the components (both hardware and software) with respect to the architectural design
  • Contribute to the System reviews and, when needed, participate to the reviews of the components
  • Define Requirements Verification Matrix
  • Bring support of the Operations FC during the Integration, Validation and Qualification phase.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.



Compétences requises

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to Master degree level (or equivalent) in general engineering or a related discipline.
  • Autonomy, rigor, reactivity and adaptability
  • Communication skills (synthetic communication, oral presentations, writing skills, reporting)
  • Good team spirit and ability to work in integrated team with European partners
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Information Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of GNSS Systems such as EGNOS and GALILEO
  • Experience of large projects in industry, in an international context
  • English: good level in speaking and writing is mandatory. Basics of German language would be appreciated.
