Description du poste / stage

The Airbus Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for a Complex Systems Modelling Specialist on the Continuity project.

Faster decision making and improved performance in end-to-end product development processes will be the focus of Continuity, enabling model-based systems engineering from conceptual through to detailed design. This will include Digital Factory modelling giving design engineers, data on the impact of their decisions on manufacturing time and cost.

In the System Engineering working group of the Continuity project, the mission of the Complex Systems Modelling Specialist will be to challenge, define and optimize the modelling solutions implemented for the Continuity project, according System Engineering methodology.

In this context, you will lead modelling topics which include:
▪System Engineering principles deployment,
▪Modelling tools selection,
▪Modelling methods deployment,
▪Link to Future Project L2,
▪Link to industrial modelling.

This position reporting to our R&T subsidiary Airbus Exo Alpha SAS is to be based in Toulouse for a Project-Based Fixed-Term Contract that will last for the duration of the Continuity programme.



Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités

Specific responsibilities of the position are to:
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾

  • Work closely with other Work Package managers to ensure global consistency of progress concerning modelling.
  • Secure alignment of modelling solutions with the system engineering decomposition and methodology.
  • Challenge and select the appropiate modelling tools.
  • Secure link with future projects modelling and industrial.
  • Contribute to build & evolve the global Master Data Model semantic reference for dynamic models (built transversally with other work packages).
  • Define modelling needs for Continuity components and their interfaces.
  • Coordinate the modelling deployment.
  • Contribute to coordinate and validate the integration of the System Engineering toolkit (including high level models i.e. based on surrogate and not directly simulated).


Compétences requises

Your Boarding Pass
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾

  • Be a Specialist in Modelling.
  • Background in System Engineering with proven experience in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • Product Line Engineering skills – associated with knowledge of modelling languages and typical toolkits used for these disciplines.
  • Experience with Modelling languages (UML, SysML, Capella)
  • Experience with Simulation models languages (Modelica, Matlab/Simulink, FlowMaster, Amesim).
  • Experience in Programming languages (Java, Python).
  • Demonstrated track record of end-to-end project execution, preferably culminating in one or more successful products.
  • Negotiation level in English. Knowledge of German or French would be a plus.

  • Ability to step back from the tools and detailed methodologies to apply real System Engineering concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge modelling concerning their pertinence and their quality at varying levels of abstraction, including requirements.
  • Impatience and burning desire to execute rapidly, along with a healthy skepticism for process.
  • Ability to drive changes in processes, practices, and mindset needed to attain your project goals.
