Description du poste / stage

The Airbus Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for an IT Architect and Integrator on the Continuity project.

Faster decision making and improved performance in end-to-end product development processes will be the focus of Continuity, enabling model-based systems engineering from conceptual through detailed design. This will include Digital Factory modelling giving design engineers, data on the impact of their decisions on manufacturing time and cost.

In this context, you will join the ‘Architecture Cockpit’ working group in charge of delivering the collaborative IT environment enabling architects, designers and industrial experts to design the aircraft and the industrial system. This environment has to enable multifunctional analyses along the aircraft development life cycle of the design solutions proposed for the aircraft definition and the manufacturing process. Many different actors are expected to interact through this environment which should enable continuous integration.

In this context, you will lead and animate the ‘Architecture and Integration’ work package in charge of the IT development of the collaborative environment.

This position reporting to our R&T subsidiary Airbus Exo Alpha SAS is to be based in Toulouse for a Project-Based Fixed-Term Contract that will last for the duration of the Continuity programme.

Tâches et missions principales, responsabilités

Your mission:

  • Analysing and validating the key requirements and functions identified by other groups.
  • Understanding the sets of tools and capabilities required, including the existing concepts or capabilities already in operation.
  • Proposing innovative architectures of the integrated solution targeted.
  • Organising the development of this solution in an agile way, securing skills and resources for this specific activity, and executing the plan to meet the ‘Continuity Project’ demonstrator targets.
  • Animating a team of developers dedicated to the IT solution development.
  • Ensuring ergonomy & usability of cockpit, through links with all potential type of users.

Specific responsibilities of the position are to:

  • Lead the technical architecture, integration and potential deployment of the IT solution and the related infrastructure.
  • Deliver architecture cockpit toolkit enabling efficient navigation all along the digital thread, using the product or industrial means architecture as a navigation skeleton.
  • Deliver highly ergonomic tools/interfaces, lowering the threshold to access & understand the different aspects of product and industrial means architecture, design, stakes, behaviour… not authored or built in architecture cockpit but jointly presented there in various integrated ways facilitating their access & understanding.
  • Deliver simple solution to build easily & quickly various & different dashboards, from which deep dive can be initiated using the same common navigation capability described in the above bullet.
  • Ensure stakeholder management.
  • Measure the quality of services delivered against agreed KPIs. Improve and adjust services to achieve high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Modify and adapt the IT solution to the evolving capacity requirements of Airbus ensuring the efficiency of service operations are balanced with business needs.
  • Optimise the services with the help of new technologies and tools ensuring more automatized and leaner processes.
  • Control and manage performance of outsourcing partners and other external suppliers to ensure that contracts support all Continuity interests.
  • Provide transparent reporting and forecasts on costs and participate to building the next agile phase.
  • Manage the internal team with a clear vision & mission, including communications of roles and responsibilities.
  • Promote culture change (business value, try and fail, fast time to market, strong autonomy, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit).
  • Ensure team spirit and motivation and develop the engagement, leadership and agility of the team.

Compétences requises

Your Boarding Pass

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with good experience in Aircraft Development Process.
  • Be an expert in Information System Integration.
  • Strong experience in Specifying or Developing Software, Web Applications, and Graphical Interfaces.
  • Sound experience in at least two of following Programming languages: Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, C#.
  • Sound experience in Solutions Development over at least one main public Cloud Infrastructure (e.g. Google cloud, Amazon AWS, MicroSoft Azure).
  • Sound experience in Solutions Integration Design and build, thus mastering at least one Integration Technology (e.g. SOA, micro-services, linked data, OSLC,…)
  • Sound experience in at least one applications lifecycle solution (e.g. Redmine, Tuleap,…), and in at least one solutions configuration and version management environment (Git, SVN,…).
  • Good experience in Cockpits, both in term of Ergonomic Design or Technology.
  • Good experience in Leading Integration of highly Multi-Disciplinary Simulation environments.
  • Sound understanding of Solutions Virtualization.
  • Experience in continuous integration and in the establishing of a relationship with a DevOps team.
  • Ability to step back from the tools and detailed methodologies to apply core architectural concepts, and maintain them drumbeating evolution of the project.
  • Experience in Engineering and/or PLM would be a plus.
  • Negotiation level in English. Knowledge of German or French would be a plus.


  • Strong abilities in capturing various needs from different perimeters.
  • Good team spirit and communication skills; ability to animate a network.
  • Impatience and burning desire to execute rapidly development tasks.
