Our client is a multinational company based in the French speaking part of Switzerland and is currently looking for a:
SAP ABAP Developer (contract position)
THE ROLE
The person is responsible for the technical development and maintenance surrounding SAP objects including user exits, reports, interfaces, workflows and enhancements.
YOU WILL BE IN CHARGE OF
The technical development and rollout of the core European SAP system and later the global SAP system.
Improvement and maintenance of the European and global SAP system.
Assist or develop technical specifications to solve business problems.
Estimate as accurately as possible work effort for tasks to be carried out
Able to test all solutions.
Adhere to all technical standards
Provide support to users as needed.
Fix any production errors as quickly as possible.
Develop and maintain personal technical and business knowledge
Contribute to quality and process improvements within the team and the department as a whole.
Contribute to ideas and solutions for process improvements to reduce the costs of running the business.
YOU NEED
Qualifications:
· ABAP development skills
· Qualifications in computer science or related areas
Operational Excellence
· Ability to translate business requirements from users into technical requirements
· Good English oral and written skills
· Demonstrated customer service skills
· Experience creating and executing test scripts
Required IT Skills
· Knowledge of SAP architecture
· Knowledge of SAP ABAP tools including ABAP Objects, Screen design, ALV controls, BDC, Forms, Badis, User Exits
Optional IT Skills:
· Knowledge of ALE/IDOCs, Workflow, Exchange Infrastructure (XI) are a plus
Experience:
· Minimum 3 years ABAP technical development experience
· Experience in at least one project lifecycle.
This is initially a 6 months contract with good chances of extension. Our client is looking for someone who wishes to be based in Switzerland on a long term basis.
